Seems to me he's being hung, drawn and quartered by Abbott before there's any sort of judicial inquiry. The real 'joke' is that Turnbull was up for the same 'offence' but was allowed to keep working while it was sorted out!! Hypocrisy at its worst.

Wandering by to say 'Hi'. Completely flat out at the moment, studying 2 courses and teaching 3, plus buying a townhouse on the Gold Coast for our big move in a few months. All the developments are good ones, though. Hope all's well with all here.

Yes Bu I tend to agree but if we do all this .... China will probably call in all the loans......China sadly has most countries in the palm of their hands.
Let them! and default on the loans Like Sharia finance the west should go deep into Sharia debt and default!

Maybe you should consider the following Bu

Army sizes

State - Australia
Active - 53,572
Reserve - 20,300
Paramilitary - 0
Total - 73,872

State - China
Active - 2,255,000
Reserve - 800,000
Paramilitary - 3,969,000
Total - 7,024,000
Exactly why Australia needs to take a "Mexican Standoff" approach to Military spending.
We need a flexible ICBM capability and let it be known that any military action will result in a 100 to 1 reciprocation of any casualties incurred. You invade Darwin we vaporize Shanghai!
Let it be known you will be targeting their cities with the highest population density.
You dont ever have to do it just have the capability and the resolve to project your determination to do it if threatened! Of course that would also involve the eradication of the current political crop and replace them all with at least a small number of people with some genitals!

Conflict no matter the scale is always won by he who is willing to go the furthest and make the greatest sacrifice both of himself and his enemy!

Exactly!

The popgun defences we have now wouldn't even scare a timid baby.

'We' nuked Japan, the war didn't end....'we' nuked it again...the war ended.

'We bombed Dresden and other parts of Germany, and blew up their big dams...all praise "The Dam Busters".
Weren't so smart then all the Hitler-worshippers.

Rudd has to go, he rang the Hiroshima nuke bell.

Only 100 to 1??

Population China :1,325,639,982
Population Australia: 21,374,000

You kill 100 Chinese for each Australian you'll still leave 800,000,000 or so to wander over here even after we're all dead and gone!

Not that it would matter. Even if the cost of producing the massive amount of weaponry needed to wipe out so many people didn't bankrupt the country for the next 1,000 years, the effects of such a bombardment would wipe out half the life on earth... if not all of it.

Err... 'we' didn't nuke anyone... nor did 'we' bomb Dresden. That was the Yanks who wanted to test out their new toys and the attempt by Bomber Harris to 'persuade' the Germans to stop the war.

One more somewhat more successful than the other but Australia had little to do with it. Tho I'm not sure if the old man was up above Dresden with the Aussie crew he flew with. You'll have to ask him.

Better dead than a Beijing slave.

At least with nukes we could turn much of China into ash and radioactive before our own demise.

'We' the Allies.

As the Yanks stormed ashore on D Day our pilots, and NZ pilots flew above them and knocked out the Nazi guns, saving many American lives.

'We' the Allies.

One of our pilots on D Day was 'out the back' somewhere, and spied a Nazi big wig fancy car full of barbaric goons alone on a road, and he blew it up...all on board dead.

Like I said there is *no* way we could develop nukes by ourselves. That leave Oz buying cast offs from the USA at inflated prices again while they hold the spares and probably the launch keys as well!!

The closest Oz ever got to their own ICBM's was that old 'Blue Streak' project the British eventually dumped after their economy couldn't sustain the development costs!!

From Wikipedia:

Quote
Eventually the project was cancelled because of its lack of credibility as a deterrent. Some considered the cancellation of Blue Streak to be not only a blow to British military-industrial efforts, but also to Commonwealth ally Australia, which had its own vested interest in the project.

They got that right!!

Pick any ratio that makes feel good and i think you might be surprised just how effective a hydrogen cluster bomb would be on a target like Shanghai or Beijing. ?They could no sooner transport 800,000,000 people than they could lecture at an ethics convention!
As I said you dont have to use them you just have to be capable and give the convincing impression that you will if needed. Heard of the Cold war?

Racially selective biological weapons have been being developed by all the major powers for decades its only a matter of time before someone gets it just right then people will have to mind their manners.

Of course Australia could develop Nuclear and it would be all the Easier if the moronic objections to nuclear power were ignored and we switched from dirty coal to clean nuke as we should have 30 years ago. Affording it is just a matter of priority and Australia is running at a tiny fraction of its financial potential. We could if we wanted to but in the post war stupor people have been brainwashed into thinking it will never happen again!
