Seems to me he's being hung, drawn and quartered by Abbott before there's any sort of judicial inquiry. The real 'joke' is that Turnbull was up for the same 'offence' but was allowed to keep working while it was sorted out!! Hypocrisy at its worst.

Wandering by to say 'Hi'. Completely flat out at the moment, studying 2 courses and teaching 3, plus buying a townhouse on the Gold Coast for our big move in a few months. All the developments are good ones, though. Hope all's well with all here.

Burqa bandit in cash grab

A GUNMAN wearing a full black burqa and sunglasses got away with a bag of cash following an armed robbery in a Sydney car park, police say.

The burqa bandit and an accomplice allegedly stalked their 35-year-old victim after he withdrew a large amount of cash from a shopping centre in Miranda, in the city's south, about 5pm (AEST) yesterday.

The victim drove to another shopping centre in Hurstville before the man wearing a burqa - traditionally only worn by women in the Islamic culture - drew his gun, grabbed the cash and fled.

Police say the two men they are looking for are about 20 to 25-years-old, of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern appearance and about 170cm tall.

They're a security threat, as shown in this article.

They're a 'wall', 'screen', where faces are hidden from view in public.

As such they should be banned.

you can't directly ban them. You can however (and places do) ban clothing that obstructs a full view of the face. This includes scarves, hoodies etc. Directly targeting burqas or the like is prejudiced. Doing it in this all-encompassing manner is not.

We can do whatever we like.

Abbott won't ban them...Rudd won't ban them...so they stay.

Enjoy!

So endeth freedom of speech?

Nope...so endeth having to try and govern an imbalance and growing perception that one Members opinion rules. We mostly attack Bu when we are fed up with the same theme being on just about every Post

Several potential Members have not joined because they see his postings going unchallenged and that gives the impression that we all support his views....most Members do not bother as they see him as a one issue person.

When Bu gets off onto other topics and commences discussion Threads - he gets a better response and more intercourse occurs. It is to his own detriment that he gets back onto the hobby horse.

This is not a 'get Bu' issue, it is a 'let's get off the one way street' request to him
Which he knows as both Chris and myself have been down this road many times.

Should we ban beards too?

Not quite the same thing is it? At a minimum you could probably tell if a guy (or woman?) with a beard was carrying a bazooka... not quite so easy when all you can see is a large black shape??

Most banks insist motorcyclists remove their helmets when they enter the premises. It isn't just to make sure they can be smacked on the head if they attempt to hold the place up... it's to make sure they can be identified!

We are talking about head/face stuff here right? not full-body garments.

I still stand with my original statement. You can ban facial obstruction in its entirety or nothing at all. you can't pick-and-choose.
