Seems to me he's being hung, drawn and quartered by Abbott before there's any sort of judicial inquiry. The real 'joke' is that Turnbull was up for the same 'offence' but was allowed to keep working while it was sorted out!! Hypocrisy at its worst.

Wandering by to say 'Hi'. Completely flat out at the moment, studying 2 courses and teaching 3, plus buying a townhouse on the Gold Coast for our big move in a few months. All the developments are good ones, though. Hope all's well with all here.

Not a lot from me. I'm still up to my neck in paint and likely to remain that way for some weeks to comes... maybe even months! Still, the old house is starting to look a little better than it was. :)

That means taking every little thing out of every cupboard and wardrobe.
Everything out of the garages.
Everything out of the whole house.
OOOOOOOHHHHH, I have a headache even thinking about it.  ;)

Have to admit he has a point. Lots of places up there look better from a helicopter... or on someone else's video where you can look at it in safety and comfort!! :)

It's been a while since I did a Darwin update...life got in the way  :-\ :-\

Recent times have seen my usually quiet suburb the scene of a few murders and a seige situation last night - which turned out to be a hoax but had people removed from  their homes in the wee smalls
http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/2012/04/25/300605_ntnews.html

I get to know about them after the event as I live in a quiet and placid Court where the most noise comes from the street dogs who complain loudly about anyone who has the temerity to walk down THEIR street...or the kid next door who had a 21st which was a damn sight noisier than the Engagement Party the other side of the Court a week later - those folk were kind enough to mailbox drop the Court and let us know...not so the parents of the 21 year old...funnily enough, the engaged ones are Indig and the others pillars of the white skin brigade. Most of the Court is still very annoyed at the 21st folks and the Engaged ones got a few late presents and cards that thanked them for their acknowledgement of the fact that they live in harmony with their neighbours

One laugh to tell you about...most folk in my Court take turns doing the mowing of  the nature strips on adjoing properties. My wonderful neighbours on one side also hop in and do my lawns from time to time...a year or so ago the drive and paths REALLY needed a clean. I bought myself a high pressure water cleaner - K'Archer - which is a dream to use. Last wekend I finally dragged it out to do this years clean - heard grumbles from  the males of the Court as their other halves were noting LOUDLY that Minx had beaten them yet again to getting the drive done.

Do you remember my trip to Coroboree Billabong? The one where I had lunch underneath a croc sunning spot - as I later found out ? One of the reasons for that trip was 'Harry' showing me part of life in the NT and also what he thought at  the time might be his last time there. He had terminal liver disease and was waiting for a transplant. Happily he has now had that - down in Adelaide - and is doing pretty well. Darwin does not have the medical facilities for Transplants, so everyone either goes to Brisbane or Adelaide.
Anyway, this week, the Rangers pulled a 4.8 m croc out of the water right at the boat ramp...erk
http://www.ntnews.com.au/article/2012/04/25/300415_ntnews.html

The Wet was something  that was pretty much of a non event this year....nowhere near the amount of rain we usually get. We were all watering our gardens when normally they would be swimming in water...good old climate change. Sydney and the East Coast got what would normally be happening here.

God Help the crims of Darwin next month as I am on Jury Duty for all of May
I've managed to evade it twice since arriving here
Diddly short of a miracle will get me out of it this time
Up here, we have to do it for a month...probably because of the smaller population
However,  the ramifications for me in regards to work are huge
I'm usually busier than anything with the demands of the job and trying to get around 7 sites
My eyes are crosing at the thought of  the amount of work I will have to be catching up on once I have fulfilled my civic duty  :o

Hopefully you'll consider all the evidence very carefully...as the accused could be innocent.

So... sat on any juicy cases yet??

I managed to avoid jury duty this year because I have the kids to look after but I'd really like to give it a shot.

My number didn't come up yesterday...oh damn, what a pity , never mind  ;)

Am now excused for the rest of  the week and ring again on Friday

Meantime, I had great plans for things to accomplish at work seeing as I had not scheduled any activities
All that went by the wayside when my beloved Manager decided to take advantage and send me on a 2 day training course....
