Seems to me he's being hung, drawn and quartered by Abbott before there's any sort of judicial inquiry. The real 'joke' is that Turnbull was up for the same 'offence' but was allowed to keep working while it was sorted out!! Hypocrisy at its worst.

School history erasing 'glory' of Gallipoli
« on: October 29, 2010, 04:41:22 PM »
bambu-ilk are obviously going to have to start a "Resistance" movement to fight this.

'Scaramouche'-ilk must appear again in history!...to 'rid' a certain society of those who would destroy its culture.

Scaramouche (1952) 7/8

5.00 along...'Scaramouche' is elected to the Assembly!...and leads the rebels.

No killing anyone these days of course, the new Resistance movement will use pens instead of swords to achieve liberty from the 'traitors' to its culture...but the principal will be the same!

School history erasing 'glory' of Gallipoli

THE value of celebrating Gallipoli may be questioned in schools under the controversial new national curriculum.

If a draft history curriculum is approved, Year 11 and 12 students would learn of alleged "controversies surrounding memorial sites and commemorative events".

A spokesman for the Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority said there was a view which asked "should we be glorifying Gallipoli?"

RSL President Don Rowe said he struggled to understand how educators could justify the claims war memorials or commemorative events were controversial, adding they did not glorify war.

"Our memorials are our only link to those who never came home," he said.

>>>>> >>>>>

The only 'controversies' are the ones cooked up by these no-ideas...who must be stopped.

Schools should be spending more of their time teaching English grammar and spelling, and let the students' parents teach them all about war memorials, commemorative events, and paying homage to those who fought for our freedom and never came home.

Let the war against the national curriculum begin.

Al Gore film An Inconvenient Truth included in school curriculum

CLIMATE change documentary 'An Inconvenient Truth' will be included in the national curriculum as part of a bid to educate students on environmental sustainability across all subjects.

It would be the first time the film, which follows former US vice-president Al Gore's climate change campaign, has been included in the school English curriculum.

>>>>> >>>>>

It should be retitled "A Convenient Untruth" it has that many 'lies' in it.

Let them teach whatever, it would take more than a curiculum to stiffle the history and sentiment of ANZAC Day, as someone decendant of proud soldiers who served their nation i will be making sure that my children and their friends know the truth and stand proud of it.

Don't worry Bu, in the future if given the oppurtunity i and those who i represent will create a curiculam that leaves the one proposed in the shade. Even if we don't someone else will, the first conservative government after the Rudd/FGillard experience will make changes for certain.

Crimson, I hope you're right.  But I think too much damage has been done in the years that the ALP has been in control of the States. This piece about Gallipoli is only one that has brought out into the open what  their intentions are.

Kady, i am a firm believer in the truth, at some point the people who this is being enthrust upon with rebel against it, the purpose of the new national indoctrination method is to progress the peacefull revolution the Labor Party believes in and it is no mistake that the Labor Party lead by a Fabian and an avowed Socialist wrote the new doctrine, anti nationalism rarely ever works, it can suppress for a time but not destroy the inate love people have for their homes. Australia has been at times a land of violent opposition to government agenda and i think the Labor Party is naive if it thinks such a history could not be repeated.

History Matters, and i think it at a crime to errase what may very well be the most important peice of our History, the only controversy that surounds ANZAC Day is the horrible commanding of the British. We should all be prouid that it tok the father of Modern Turkey to stop the ANZACs from being victorious. It is an interesting side note, that Attaturk not only personally commanded the unit that stopped our soldiers from advancing but later met an Australian Prime Minister who actually served at Gallipoli and personally gave him a gift, the effection between Australia and Turkey even after such an event should be honoured and remembered as an example of what used to be a very Australian tradition, that it is not about winning or losing but how your carry yourself, that after the fight is over a round at the pub makes everyone equal and that is where it stays.

Thats all well and good but how you carry yourself is only relevant if you are walking about afterwards an not being carried (pardon the pun).

In a way true, though honour and integrity are still important. It is good to be walking around afterward but if everything you stood for is disolved because you weren't willing to put a good fight in it becomes irrelevent.

It does depend on what you believe is more important, the courage of your cinvictions or living to see them mean nothing.
