Seems to me he's being hung, drawn and quartered by Abbott before there's any sort of judicial inquiry. The real 'joke' is that Turnbull was up for the same 'offence' but was allowed to keep working while it was sorted out!! Hypocrisy at its worst.

Wandering by to say 'Hi'. Completely flat out at the moment, studying 2 courses and teaching 3, plus buying a townhouse on the Gold Coast for our big move in a few months. All the developments are good ones, though. Hope all's well with all here.

Good thinking... lets throw all those Aussies working in the industries that support foreign aid out of work as well. That's a sure fire way to help the economy!

Forcing?? How galling it must be to be *forced* to help fellow Australians get out of deep  *censored* that they did nothing to deserve.

I suppose it all has to do with how close you could be related to the floods?

Many people gave voluntarily! And now this bird has the gall to say, "you didn't give enough, so I am going to tax you with more".

How sad.

Both the spelling of the prime ministers name and the use of the word forcing is "loading" this question. As such the findings, whatever they are, are inconclusive due to your own bias.

Well, as a teacher you would know how to spell correctly??? So perhaps you should also teach all the others here that spell Jooolia incorrectly?

Actually, it's "prime minister's name".

What's sad is that you are criticising the efforts of the Federal Government when you seem not to have a clue what the levy is for!

Both Prime Minister and Premier made it *very* plain that our individual donations are being used to help families recover from the devastation whereas the levy is soley for the repair and reconstruction of infrastructure such as roads, rail links etc.

We need to keep up with the individual donations to the Premiers Find etc to help out the individuals who are in strife!

As usual, you have missed the point entirely.

I selected did not donate but support. I dunno If that's entirely true though. Sure, I didn't donate any money but I donated a week of my time...

I dunno... I guess that will do.

Giving a reported $2.6 billion to communist Vietnam to build a bridge is a waste of money, and unaffordable.
Ditto giving Indonesia $500m extra to build schools, and another $45m for 'climate change'.
Especially when they both are sentencing our citizens to death, and Indonesia gives us nothing in return.

Sadly it seems that 'you' and 'a clue' have once again parted company! The 'voluntary donations' (from individuals and corporations alike)  are for a purpose entirely different from the funds raised by the levy. Continually linking the two is just silly at best and malicious at worst!

There are people up in Qld who, for example, own units that are likely to be wiped out financially by the floods and they won't see a cent of the cash raised by the levy. If they are lucky they'll receive help from the charities and other organisations passing out the funds donated voluntarily otherwise they are on their own!
