Seems to me he's being hung, drawn and quartered by Abbott before there's any sort of judicial inquiry. The real 'joke' is that Turnbull was up for the same 'offence' but was allowed to keep working while it was sorted out!! Hypocrisy at its worst.

Wandering by to say 'Hi'. Completely flat out at the moment, studying 2 courses and teaching 3, plus buying a townhouse on the Gold Coast for our big move in a few months. All the developments are good ones, though. Hope all's well with all here.

How's the weather??
« on: December 08, 2011, 07:14:30 AM »
Sydney forecast is for rain and possible storms 'til the middle of next week when there will be some sunny periods... followed by the possibility of more rain!! :)

It fills the dams, reduces the fire risk, and gives the flowers a chance to develop strong root systems ready for the real summer heat... but despite the entire area greening up nicely, it *can* get a bit tedious! Thankfully so far around us there's been no sign of flooding. but it's been rough elsewhere.

Is everyone else watching their gardens getting a good soaking??

Yes - fully appreciating the rains over here, especially as I had also been watering my neighbour's gardens whilst she was in hospital(s).

Right now I'm sitting under a fairly clear sky, in relatively cool temperatures, with the doors and windows wide open. It's lovely and can stay like this all summer as far as I'm concerned. :D

Forecast is for rain... but the Girl Guides have a Family Fun Day going on at Cataract so we're off there for the day.

No doubt it will chuck it down but what the hell..?? :)

Hmmm...apparently we here in the Hunter are suppose to get 100ml tomorrow.....

Poured in the morning for us... but dried up nicely in the afternoon. This morning was beautiful... this afternoon it poured.

No pattern to it at all. Best of luck... 100 ml is a lot to come down in one go, but if the ground is already damp perhaps a lot will be absorbed.

Christchurch weather  lovely 22c and calm all week
just a few quakes at max 6 and 30 aftershocks a day .

was out side when the first one hit watched the two flats making like they were a crawling caterpillar.
was beside a rain barrel and it spilled  water over me.
err wet my pants --honest--it was the quake
now down to aftershocks all day feel about half the 30 odd ones we get.
was very quiet at one every 2nd day before
now back to waiting for the next shock to stir the coffee.
merry xmas to you all

Still amazes me how you can live with the stress! Glad to hear you're ok tho.

Assuming you had a good Christmas... but let's hope the new year brings some quiet to your environment!! Best of luck.

all the silver beet(chard) have bolted  so they are chook food now
but more coming on well so all winter i will have emergency greens.
one in particular was 6 feet tall and realized it was planted over the place where  the long drop from the first quake was.

as for the quakes  there is one nasty  residue
any quake has a seconds warning as the first  wave hits and after that it builds up with a second wave coming after it.
the distance away from the quake is determined buy the gap in the two waves.
so the nasty thing is
if some @#$ slams a car door  it sounds just like the low frequency arrival of the first quake wave  as well the low frequency sound from a large diesel accelerating away sounds the same
so every now and again the adrenaline cuts in as you hear any low  frequency sound
so if you leave New Zealand please dont slam the door
